The boys over at Penny Arcade are doing something wonderful, something they have dubbed Child’s Play. It is their intention to deliver positively Santa-scale amounts of toys to Seattle Children’s Hosptial. Basically, they’ve set up an Amazon.com wish list of items that people can purchase for the hospital. The items are delivered to the boys at Penny Arcade, who will in turn deliver the items to the hospital. Less than a week after opening, over thirty thousand dollars has already been poured into Child’s Play. The postal service has had to use special trucks devoted solely to the toy drive in order to ship all the toys to Penny Arcade. Maybe there really is some good in the world.
As someone who once spent a lot of time in a children’s hospital, I can tell you that the Penny Arcade crew is Doing The Right Thing. Donate if you can.
Oh, and beneath the good intentions, they assure us that they are really the same as ever.
