haiku: the genie challenge

Lauren challenged me to write a haiku where I ask a genie for three wishes, one line per wish. Here we go:

First: College entrance.
Second: Good New Year for all.
Third? More syllables.

This turned out to be way, way harder than I thought it would be when I first read it. Thanks, Lauren. Now if only she’d tell me the secret of getting comments on a blog…

    Truly, the secret
    For getting more comments is
    To elicit them.

    For example: posts
    That ask questions, demanding
    Answers from readers.

    It may also help
    To encourage responses
    That are not haiku.

    Begin a trend; write
    Sonnets, to challenge and dare.
    Users will respond.

    Yay, I love it! A+.

As for comments, the easiest way to get them is to make lots of mistakes. People can’t resist pointing them out.
