See, I knew I wasn’t going to have time to do much writing this week, so I prepared some art ahead of time. Feel free to leave deep psychological interpretations in the comments. Here’s some more art, featuring nothing but William Shatner.
art? i’m not so sure. perhaps more the elevation of form over substance … or possibly – i’m trying here to be progressive and generous – we have a portrayal of incipient affect seeping into the larger world of ego and consciousness. or maybe not. notice how sure of myself i am.
I can only critique the aesthetics of abstract work. I think the composition would be stronger if it were rotated 90º counter-clockwise. But that might be a little more expected. Perhaps a 180º rotation might work, since the contrasting colors makes it very bottom-heavy, and the eye naturally wants to go from top to bottom anyway… at least in cultures where we’re trained to read from top to bottom (regardless of left to right or right to left).
