The following are all things that ESPN2’s commentators actually said during last night’s Chivas vs Galaxy game:
“That’s David Beckham’s new target man [LA Galaxy's Edson Buddle]. He’s the one on his back right now.”
“That’s right. That Cuban refugee is having a great game…”
(Chivas player Maykel Galindo, who was a critical goal-scorer in last night’s game, defected from Cuba while he was in the U. S. to play in the 2005 CONCACAF. I dare you to find me any similar incredibleness in either baseball or football.)
“The thing is, they just don’t have enough good players.”
(Referring, I suppose, to the LA Galaxy, but the game was ugly that I can’t be sure.)
