So Sean Penn is now a Best Actor,
And spoke as hate’s great detractor.
But in his victory speech,
One name seemed out of reach.
Tell me, in your performance, was Harvey Milk not a factor?
Really, Sean. You take the time to give a frattish shout-out to Mickey Rourke, but not the slain gay rights icon on whom your Oscar-winning performance is based? Harvey Milk’s life was one of small miracles and enormous courage. Without people like Milk to do the hard work, the Sean Penns of the world would never have the luxury of such self-indulgent speechifying.
