on continuity
In the comments section of an old post of mine regarding footnotes, GDeeeeZL (not his real name) asks:
On a website where you can almost limitlessly scroll down the page, what distinguishes a footnote from an endnote?
An excellent question. The answer is simple, really. A footnote comes at the end of a post. An endnote comes at the end of the website. The “end of the website” will vary from writer to writer. In my case, that will be when I’m dead. The heirs of my vast estate1 will have to take care of that once I go to the big tangent in the sky, somewhere around the year 21902.
2190? Do you have Vulcan ancestry I’m not aware of?
Can’t help but think of that last sequence in ‘Six Feet Under’ that brought us far into the future of the characters’ lives. See you in 2190. I will be weightlifting competitively at the age of 207.
According to the Death Clock, you’ve only got til Saturday, November 20, 2077.
