For a mutant who's supposed to be powerful enough to "punch a hole through a mountain," he really does seem to have a hard time doing much more than knocking people over and annoying them. As a result, I think debating physics is WHOLLY appropriate. Even the Marvel Universe website indicates <a href="http://www.marvel.com/universe/Colossus_(Piotr_Rasputin)" rel="nofollow">that Colossus doesn't turn into literal steel</a>, although he does gain a couple hundred extra pounds worth of mass.
